Patagonian Splendour II
Fourteen day cruise aboard the SEABOURN PRIDE starting on February 06, 2001 from Valparaiso in Chile.
Cruise the Pacific Ocean and the Chilean Fjords, Castro, Punta Arenas, Valparaiso and Puerto Montt in Chile, Ushuaia in Argentina, returning in Valparaiso.
Valparaiso is known as a source of inspiration for musicians, painters, and writers an poets. That is one of the reasons why the city is called "The City where lies the imagination". Valparaiso has many museums. Even the city itself is a museum where you can find paintings of renowned Chilean artists at the Open Air Museum.
The city of Castro is in the center of Chile, only three hours from Puerto Montt. Castro is an important business center and an excellent tourist starting point. When you come to this far away corner of the world, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the magic and enchantment of our people, the landscape and their traditions.
Punta Arenas, southernmost city in Chile, is gateway to the southern tip of Patagonia and to spectacular Paine Towers National Park.
Set on a gently sloping point on the island of Ultima Esperanza. Puerto Natales is an ideal starting point for explorations of some of the most spectacular natural features of Chile- the Torres Del Paine National Park, Bernardo O' Higgins National Park and the Milodon Cave.
Southernmost city in Argentina, Ushuaia is situated on the northern shore of the Beagle Channel, its streets steeply climbing towards snow-covered Cerro Martial to the north. There are fine views over the Channel and to snow capped mountain peaks. The old prison, the Presidio, houses the Museum Maritimo, the Museum Antartico and the Museum Penitenciario. The Museum Territorial has an interesting display of early photos of the local Indian tribes, the first missionaries and the first pioneers.
This cruise is performed by SEABOURN CRUISES on board SEABOURN PRIDE running on the following dates during year 2001.
