Burma, Thailand and Malaysia
Fourteen day cruise aboard the SEABOURN SPIRIT starting on February 11, 2001 from Singapore.
Cruise the Strait of Malacca and the Andaman Sea, Langkawi, Port Kelang, Malacca and Penang in Malaysia, Yangon in Myanmar, Ko Hong and Phuket in Thailand, returning in Singapore.
The island of Singapore is one of Asia's most dynamic nations, a model for blending diverse cultures into a unified whole. Malay, Chinese, Indian and European groups celebrate their heritage, but also take great pride in their contribution to the country's success.
The swirl of Batik in eastern bazaars, the cascade of waterfalls in Botanical Gardens, jungle-clad hills ringed by golden beaches, are the images you may take from Penang. This lovely island resort is the picture of Malaysian diversity. A tour of Georgetown, the capital, features visits to Snake Temple, the Temple of the Reclining Buddha and Kek Lok Si, one of the most beautiful temples in Southeast Asia.
Ancient Burmese culture endures in Yangon, the exotic city on the Irrawaddy River. The jewel of the city formerly known as Rangoon is the Shwedagon Pagoda. It is one of the world's great Buddhist shrines, literally swathed in gold, diamonds, rubies and other precious stones.
Phuket's Patong Beach was once a remote island village on a long crescent beach. Today it is as famous as any beach resort in the world. Yet quiet spots can still be readily found among the dozen or more beaches of the island. Nai Yang Beach-a serene strip of sand in a national park-for example or, just ten minutes by tuk tuk from Patong Beach, visit the beautiful four kilometers of white sand called Karon Beach.
This cruise is performed by SEABOURN CRUISES on board SEABOURN SPIRIT running on the following dates during year 2001.
