Iberia and Belgium
Fourteen day cruise aboard the SEABOURN SUN starting on June 25, 2001 from Barcelona in Spain.
Cruise the Mediterranean Sea, Motril, Malaga, Cadiz and La Coruna in Spain, Lisbon in Portugal, crossing the Atlantic Ocean, La Rochele in France, St, Peter Port in Guernsey returning in Antwerp in Belgium.
Glimpse Barcelona's remarkable architecture as you tour the city. Or experience Monsterrat, legendary home of the Knights of the Holy Grall. There's also a host of art galleries, museums and elegant shops to explore.
A lively, prosperous city on Spain's fabled Costa del Sol, Malaga is dotted with charming villas and exotic foliage. Travel inland to Granada to discover the Moorish delights of the Alhambra and the Generalife Gardens.
The Andalusian port of Cadiz is a charming cluster of narrow streets opening onto little squares, with a golden-domed cathedral shining in the distance. From here, join a tour to Seville, home of the Moorish Alcazar.
Lisbon is a masterpiece of classical architecture, with its tree-lined boulevards and pastel buildings. Visit Jeronimos Monastery in the old quarter of Belem, and enjoy browsing the city's chic shopping district.
La Coruna seaport leads to fabled Santiago de Compostela. Pilgrims once walked from all over Europe to this cathedral where St, James is interred. Watch as the huge silver censer is lit, hoisted and swung across the nave by a team of eight men.
Antwerp is one of Europe's oldest and most distinguished cultural centres on a half excursion. Drink a "diamond cocktail" in a cutter's workshop; perhaps the stone in your drink will be real. Visit painter Paul Rubens' house, and then enjoy a walking tour of the charming city centre.
This quaint harbour whose narrow, cobbled streets and granite houses rise in tiers on the hillside is actually the island of Guernsey's capital. In town, visit St. Peter's Church and the 13th-century Castle Cornet.
Dover is at one end of the North Downs and has several ranges of hills, two of which have fortresses dating from the medieval and Roman eras, as well as more modern (19th Century) times. Behind the town centre are the modern-day barracks, Dover's past and current commitments to the country have always included more than can be seen under the famous White Cliffs.
This cruise is performed by SEABOURN CRUISES on board SEABOURN SUN running on the following dates during year 2001.
