Captain's Homecoming
Fourteen day cruise aboard the SEABOURN SUN starting on August 23, 2001 from Dover in UK.
Cruise the North Sea, Lubeck in Germany, Copenhagen in Denmark, Oslo, Haugesund, Ulvik, Bergen, Hellesylt and Geiranger in Norway, Rosyth in Scotland, returning in Dover.
Dover is at one end of the North Downs and has several ranges of hills, two of which have fortresses dating from the medieval and Roman eras, as well as more modern (19th Century) times. Behind the town centre are the modern-day barracks, Dover's past and current commitments to the country have always included more than can be seen under the famous White Cliffs.
Copenhagen has it all. Savour historic cobbled streets and village squares, people-watching at outdoor cafes, pantomime, concerts and dining at the resplendent Tivoli Gardens.
Whatever else you do in Oslo, be sure to visit the Viking Museum and the National Gallery. There's also Thor Heyerdahl's Kon-Tiki and strolling the picturesque harbour to delight you.
Fascinating excursions reveal Bergen's 1,000-year history. See Rosenkrantz Tower before venturing to Troldhaugen and Fantoft Church. Or explore in depth at the Bergen Aquarium, Haakon's Hall and St. Mary's Church.
Hellesylt is a beautiful resort, overlooking the Norwegian fjords. It is the starting point for excursions through a land where waterfalls spread their lacework across the cliffs, and orchards are strung together in a garland of blossom.
Enclosed on both sides by towering walls of craggy rock, Geirangerfjord is one of the most majestic sights in all of Norway. Ascend Mt. DaIsnibba for breathtaking views of Norway's mountains, lakes and waterfalls.
A dignified air distinguishes Scotland's capital, a centre for commerce and the arts alike. Edinburgh Castle dominates the skyline, Encounter the dramatic history of Scotland within its walls and panoramic views of the city from them.
This cruise is performed by SEABOURN CRUISES on board SEABOURN SUN running on the following dates during year 2001.
