CANAVES I and CANAVES II are two groups of traditional houses situated in Oia, a unique picturesque village on the northern tip of the island of Santorini. Houses carved into the rock, mansions with their stairways and the neoclassical architecture, with white and ochra as their dominant colours, walls decorated with small stones, roads paved with flagstones, and flowers form a harmonious picture of the impressive village of Oia. The view of the volcano, the infinity of the seas and the unique sunset of Santorini take a different dimension when seen from this village. Each house of the CANAVES complex has a private terrace overlooking the Caldera. They are built into the rock and accommodate from 2 - 6 persons. All the houses are fully airconditioned and beautifully decorated with traditional antique furniture and handicrafts. Each house has a living area, one or two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen including refrigerator and oven, a bath or shower and direct dial telephone as well as a mini bar. There is daily maid service. There is a swimming pool, a pool bar, and adequate parking space. Breakfast and room service are available. There are two beaches in the Oia area. Access is difficult though, as they cannot be reached by car. One can only go on foot. If you wish to go to Armeni beach, where the harbour is, you should descend about 300 steps (do not forget you will have to come back!!). The road to Ammoudi beach has about 200 steps. There is a good road leading to the large beach of Baxedes 3 km away from the village of Oia. Accommodation description CANAVES I is the older section, slightly cheaper, and CANAVES II, the newer part of the complex. In each part there are apartments capable of accommodating 2/3 persons in one bedroom and one living room, and larger apartments with two bedrooms and a living room that accommodate 4/6 persons.CANAVES II offers two HONEYMOON SUITES with a master bedroom and one living room, two bathrooms, private verandas with the best views of the sunset and the caldera anywhere in Oia and total privacy.
