It was inhabited in the Neolithic period and throughout the Minoan periods, and again in Greco-Roman and Byzantine times. The Mohlos tombs produced the largest and richest collection of gold jewelry of the period. Among other finds of interest were a gold signet ring, seal stones and stone vases.
